LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending The Honorable Ronald W. Elias posthu-
mously upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
the Ellenville Regional Hospital Foundation

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who distinguished themselves through
their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives of
service to their community and their profession; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend The Honor-
able Ronald W. Elias posthumously upon the occasion of his designation
for special recognition by the Ellenville Regional Hospital Foundation;
and
WHEREAS, Ellenville Regional Hospital's Annual Gala and Silent Auction
will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Honor's Haven in Ellen-
ville, New York; the Board of Directors of the Ellenville Regional
Hospital Foundation has selected the late Honorable Ronald W. Elias as
this year's honoree; and
WHEREAS, Judge Elias, who passed away in June of 2009, was a long-
standing Trustee of the Ellenville Regional Hospital Board of Trustees;
he served the hospital in many capacities including Board President; and
WHEREAS, Judge Elias is being recognized for his commitment to and
stewardship of Ellenville Regional Hospital; he was instrumental in
forming the relationship with Westchester Medical Center, which helped
to keep the hospital open for the community; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Elias was called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless endeavors and always gave of himself unstintingly;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Ronald Elias stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Ronald Elias displayed throughout
his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhanced the quality of life in their community and displayed a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned recognition and applause; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend The Honorable Ronald W. Elias posthumously upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the Ellenville Regional
Hospital Foundation; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Ronald Elias.
