LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Anthony Marcelli upon the occasion of
his designation by HeartShare Human Services of New York as the recipi-
ent of its 2012 HeartShare Genie Foundation Award

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors,
and community service are an example and inspiration to their
colleagues, friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Anthony Marcelli upon the occasion of his designation by HeartShare
Human Services of New York as the recipient of its 2012 HeartShare Genie
Foundation Award; and
WHEREAS, Anthony Marcelli, Co-Owner of Classie Sounds Inc., CSE
Productions, will be honored at the organization's Spring Gala and
Auction, to be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012; and
WHEREAS, HeartShare Human Services of New York is a nonprofit human
services agency dedicated to improving the lives of people in need of
special services and support, and to helping individuals develop to
their fullest potential and lead meaningful and enriched lives; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1914, HeartShare Human Services of New York
promotes self-sufficiency and responsibility through its programs and
services to more than 25,000 children, adults, families, and the devel-
opmentally disabled throughout New York City annually; each year, at its
Spring Gala and Auction, it proudly recognizes the achievements of those
who exemplify its ideals and help to further its mission; and
WHEREAS, Anthony Marcelli was born in Calabria, Italy; as the second
youngest of nine children, he learned at an early age how to make his
presence known; once the Marcelli family migrated to the United States,
he quickly assimilated himself as a Brooklynite; and
WHEREAS, Along with his older siblings, Anthony Marcelli attended
public school and quickly found a passion in the arts which was nurtured
by his parents; his interest in photography and learning the intricacies
of mixing music was ignited when he met Steven Retas Jr. and Pasquale
Illuzzi; their solid chemistry and their combined passion and love of
music started their friendship and career in the entertainment industry;
and
WHEREAS, In 1983, the three young men from Bensonhurst formed Classie
Sounds Entertainment, and became partners in what would eventually
become the high ranking entertainment company in the tri-state area; and
WHEREAS, During his career, Anthony Marcelli has had the opportunity
to join forces with some of the biggest names on the music scene but
through it all his heart has remained in establishing and cultivating
his relationships with local business owners such as himself; working
alongside caterers, restaurateurs and event specialists has given Antho-
ny the life-long relationships of individuals that he now counts among
his dear friends; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Anthony Marcelli is grateful for all
of the success that has come into his life and, for that, he believes
strongly in donating his time and resources to causes that are close to
his heart; one such charity is The Genie Foundation which he proudly
supports in honor of his friend, Nino Russo; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Angela, their chil-
dren, Vittoria and Lilianna, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of
his life and rejoice in his achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Anthony Marcelli has displayed
throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Anthony Marcelli upon the occasion of his designation by HeartS-
hare Human Services of New York as the recipient of its 2012 HeartShare
Genie Foundation Award on March 22, 2012; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Anthony Marcelli.
