LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Honorary Gala Chair Denise Doring
VanBuren upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the American Red Cross of the Mid-Hudson Valley at its 3rd Annual Fire
and Ice Gala on March 22, 2012

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are greatly enriched by the compassionate commitment of individuals who
distinguish themselves in their profession and in service to their
community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Denise Doring VanBuren, Honorary Gala Chair, upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the American Red Cross of the
Mid-Hudson Valley at its 3rd Annual Fire and Ice Gala to be held at The
Grandview in Poughkeepsie, New York on Thursday, March 22, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Denise Doring VanBuren, Vice President of Corporate Communi-
cations for the Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corporation and the CH
Energy Group, truly merits this recognition; her exceptional commitment
to voluntary service, exemplifies the American Red Cross' fundamental
principles and goes far beyond her community's borders; and
WHEREAS, Denise Doring VanBuren's philanthropic endeavors include an
extensive list of non-profit organizations; she served on the boards of
the United Way of Dutchess County and the Locust Grove Historic Site,
among many others; and
WHEREAS, Denise Doring VanBuren has fittingly been recognized by
several organizations; she is the recipient of the Dutchess County
Historical Society's Dutchess Award and the City of Beacon's Volunteer
of the Year Award and has been honored as a YWCA Salute to Women and
Industry Award Honoree and as a New York State Daughters of the American
Revolution Outstanding Regent; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Denise Doring VanBuren, Honorary Gala Chair, upon the occasion
of her designation for special recognition by the American Red Cross of
the Mid-Hudson Valley at its 3rd Annual Fire and Ice Gala on March 22,
2012; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Denise Doring VanBuren.
