LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Trini-
ty Alliance

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 100th Anniversary of the Trinity Alliance, to be celebrated on
Tuesday, April 3, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1912 by Episcopalian Pastor Reverend Creighton
Storey, Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region is known for its pioneer-
ing efforts in social service and health and wellness delivery; and
WHEREAS, The Trinity Alliance is a private, not-for-profit, non-secta-
rian, social service agency devoted to meeting the needs of the communi-
ty; some of the organization's innovations, include the following: one
of the longest continuously running after-school programs in the city of
Albany; the presence of neighborhood establishments in every inner-city
Albany neighborhood supporting broad social involvement and community
development; and primary family support programs focused on keeping
families together; and
WHEREAS, Trinity Alliance's mission is to provide services to the
community which will support and promote healthy families, adults and
children; it is dedicated to improving the neighborhood as a setting for
family life, contributing to health and well-being, and promoting educa-
tion and employment as a means of self-development; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Trinity Alliance; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Trinity Alliance.
