LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Harry Gochee III upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the
Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce on March 30, 2012

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Harry Gochee III has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Harry Gochee
III upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Lifetime
Achievement Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated
at its 27th Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, March 30, 2012, at Cyprus
Shrine Center in Glenmont, New York; and
WHEREAS, Harry Gochee III has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, This illustrious award recognizes Harry Gochee III's busi-
ness' strength and prosperity over the past 80 years in Delmar; and
WHEREAS, Gochee's Garage, started in 1929 as the first NYS registered
Repair shop, has been in Harry Gochee III's family for three gener-
ations, demonstrating the family's commitment to the Bethlehem business
community; and
WHEREAS, Harry Gochee III's dedication to the community is evident in
his continual support of many local community and charitable organiza-
tions, including the TriVillage Little League, Bethlehem Babe Ruth,
Bethlehem Pop Warner, and Boy Scouts, as well as St. Thomas School; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Harry Gochee III has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Harry Gochee III has displayed
throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Harry Gochee III upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Harry Gochee III.
