LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Phyllis N. Doria, outgoing President
of the Chamber of Commerce of the Massapequas, for her outstanding
service and commitment to her community

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the leaders of commerce and industry who contribute to the
economic health and prosperity, and to the quality of life, of the
communities of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Phyllis N. Doria, outgoing President of the Chamber of Commerce of the
Massapequas, for her outstanding service and commitment to her community
as she is honored by the Chamber on June 28, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Local Chambers of Commerce have made important contributions
to New York State's progress and prosperity and have long been integral
to the State's economic development; and
WHEREAS, In keeping with the proud tradition of New York State's local
Chambers of Commerce, under Phyllis N. Doria's leadership the Chamber of
Commerce of the Massapequas has worked to bring individuals, organiza-
tions and institutions together to advance the commercial, financial,
industrial and civic interests of the Massapequas; and
WHEREAS, Phyllis N. Doria has been a valued and involved member of the
Chamber of Commerce of the Massapequas for many years; she has served
the Chamber in numerous capacities, including, most recently, as Presi-
dent; and
WHEREAS, Phyllis N. Doria may be justly proud of the many programs she
introduced during her tenure as President; and
WHEREAS, Individuals, such as Phyllis N. Doria, who give of their time
and energies and serve the best interests of their communities are an
asset beyond remuneration and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Phyllis N. Doria has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership, working dili-
gently and with great enthusiasm to improve the Massapequas; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her years of service as an officer of the Chamber
of Commerce of the Massapequas, a period of constructive involvement,
Phyllis N. Doria has stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor;
and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of the citizens and businesses of the Massapequas
which has been displayed by Phyllis N. Doria; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Phyllis N. Doria, outgoing President of the Chamber of Commerce
of the Massapequas, for her outstanding service and commitment to her
community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Phyllis N. Doria.
