LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Catholic Charities Caregivers Support
Services upon the occasion of its 25th Anniversary

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging
significant milestones in the distinguished histories of its esteemed
entities; and
WHEREAS, Catholic Charities Caregivers Support Services (CCCSS) will
celebrate its 25th Anniversary on April 26, 2012; and
WHEREAS, CCCSS is a not-for-profit agency of Catholic Charities of the
Diocese of Albany that recognizes human need at all stages of life,
responding to all persons regardless of race, creed, or lifestyle, with
special emphasis on low-income and otherwise vulnerable individuals; and
WHEREAS, The projected increase in the number of older adults in New
York State will have a significant impact on health, access to long-term
care services, the needs of the caregivers, and the State's ability to
deliver and fund these services; and
WHEREAS, The success of CCCSS has been demonstrated by their assist-
ance of an estimated 6,000 older adults and their caregivers across 14
counties by providing respite, information and supportive assistance;
and
WHEREAS, CCCSS partners with state, county, and local organizations to
ensure the well-being and family stability of children being raised by
their grandparents or other relatives through kinship care; and
WHEREAS, CCCSS has a long and distinguished history in the community
for helping to improve the quality of life for those who care for
friends and relatives in need; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Catholic Charities Caregivers Support Services upon the occasion
of its 25th Anniversary, and to thank its expert staff and dedicated
volunteers for their extraordinary service to the community; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Catholic Charities Caregivers Support Services.
