LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Making the Impossible Possible,
Inc. upon the occasion of hosting its First Annual Gala

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
acknowledge those within our midst who have made significant contrib-
utions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Making the Impossible Possible, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting
its First Annual Gala on Sunday, May 6, 2012, in Bayside, New York; and
WHEREAS, Making the Impossible Possible, (MIPO) Inc. is a non-profit
membership organization founded to promote the quality of life of
Haitian youth in the United States and abroad through education, music,
character building, medical care, apprenticeship training, family
support, and scholarships; its mission is to vigilantly help young men
and women transition into adulthood; and
WHEREAS, The goals of MIPO Inc. is to provide the following: support
which would enable troubled Haitian youth to understand their capabili-
ties and mobilize such elements through self-reliant activities; support
of the family through counseling; financial assistance through the
development of a scholarship fund that would help disadvantaged Haitian
youth to pursue their education and to develop their artistic talents; a
yearly food pantry, clothing drive, and educational supplies drive for
needy youth; and educational leadership conferences for Haitian youth;
and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, MIPO Inc.'s distinguished record
merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Making the Impossible Possible, Inc. upon the occasion of
hosting its First Annual Gala; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Making the Impossible Possible, Inc.
