LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jeanne R. So upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Father Joseph F. Girzone Crystal Pillar
of the Community Award by the Montgomery County Office for Aging, Inc.

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging its
esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their community;
and
WHEREAS, Jeanne R. So will be honored with the Joseph F. Girzone Crys-
tal Pillar of the Community Award from the Montgomery County Office for
Aging, Inc. during a dinner to be held at the Glen Sanders Mansion on
May 10, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne earned associate degrees in business and nursing from
Fulton Montgomery Community College; and
WHEREAS, She enjoyed success as President of a local leather manufac-
turer, a home care case manager, and a geriatric nurse; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne is currently serving as the Administrator of the Sarah
Jane Sanford Home for Elderly Women; and
WHEREAS, She contributes her time to countless organizations, includ-
ing the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, District 10 Nurses Asso-
ciation, Amsterdam Rotary Club, Johnstown Moose Club, Empire State Asso-
ciation of Assisted Living, New York State Business Council, Montgomery
County Long Term Care Council, Rural Adult Immunization Coalition,
Friends of Sanford Stud Farm Society, and the Montgomery County Histor-
ical Society; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne has also been a 4H leader, a Christian educator, and
was a volunteer member of the Honduras Mission Trip in 2010; and
WHEREAS, She has received numerous awards, including the 2006 Rotarian
of the Year, 2007 United Way Community Award, the 2009 Montgomery County
Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Year, and the 2010 Nurse of Excel-
lence Award; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne has exhibited the true spirit of the Joseph F. Girzone
Crystal Pillar of the Community Award through her tireless dedication to
the community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jeanne R. So upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Father Joseph F. Girzone Crystal Pillar of the Community Award by
the Montgomery County Office for Aging, Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jeanne R. So.
