LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Bellmore-
Merrick Emergency Medical Services, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those individuals within the State of New York who, in the
course of their jobs, perform acts of heroic dimension; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 40th Anniversary of Bellmore-Merrick Emergency Medical
Services, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Bellmore-Merrick Emergency Medical Services (hereinafter
referred to as Bellmore-Merrick EMS) is a not-for-profit organization
based out of Bellmore, New York, consisting of a group of dedicated,
hard working volunteers who are devoted to helping other people; and
WHEREAS, These particular services have been available to those who
live in Bellmore, Merrick, North Bellmore, North Merrick, and parts of
East Meadow for 40 years; it is committed to providing the highest level
of emergency medical care exceeding current medical standards, both
national and local; and
WHEREAS, Aside from emergency transports, Bellmore-Merrick EMS also
provides non-emergency transports to and from medical and health-related
facilities, continuing to strive for excellence; it is also devoted to
providing a broad-based level of community services by having an ambu-
lance on stand-by for a variety of events including high school football
and lacrosse games, as well as manning a station at the two local street
fairs at the end of the summer; and
WHEREAS, With a 40 year history, Bellmore-Merrick EMS is devoted to
educating its community by hosting several open training sessions where
citizens can learn useful skills like CPR and First Aid; and
WHEREAS, All of the individuals associated with Bellmore-Merrick EMS,
past and present, are deserving of the highest commendation for their
contributions to the noble missions of this life-saving organization;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Bellmore-Merrick Emergency Medical
Services, Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bellmore-Merrick Emergency Medical Services, Inc.
