LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Simon Lemli upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Town of North Hempstead on
May 24, 2012

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Simon Lemli has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Simon Lemli
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the Town
of North Hempstead, to be celebrated at its 40th Annual Senior Citizen
Recognition Luncheon on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at the Chateau Briand in
Carle Place, New York; and
WHEREAS, Simon Lemli is being honored at this most auspicious event in
recognition of his tireless contributions to the community of North
Hempstead, New York; and
WHEREAS, As a distinguished member of the Leisure Club of Mineola,
Simon Lemli devotes his time to making sure the club's meetings run
smoothly by arriving early to help set up the meeting room and making
sure that all tables and refreshments are in order for when the other
members arrive; and
WHEREAS, Moreover, Simon Lemli and his wife serve as the Leisure
Club's dance instructors, offering line dancing lessons to the club's
members every Tuesday; and
WHEREAS, Simon Lemli has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Simon Lemli has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Simon Lemli has displayed throughout
his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Simon Lemli upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Town of North Hempstead; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Simon Lemli.
