LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Paul Conte Cadillac, Inc. upon the
occasion of its designation as a recipient of a Dealer of the Year Award
by General Motors

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those busi-
nesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves through
outstanding professional behavior, corporate innovation, and enduring
commitment to the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Paul Conte Cadillac, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation as a
recipient of a Dealer of the Year Award by General Motors; and
WHEREAS, This is Paul Conte Cadillac, Inc.'s first time being recog-
nized with this honor by General Motors as it is given to only two
percent of Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers in the Northeast
region; and
WHEREAS, In order to receive Dealer of the Year honors, Paul Conte
Cadillac, Inc. had to be a top performer in sales and customer service;
in addition, dealers also need to show a commitment to these areas on a
long term basis by retaining customers and providing them with excep-
tional service using genuine General Motors parts; and
WHEREAS, Owner of the organization, Paul Conte, a 35-year Garden City,
New York, resident, was named as one of the top 20 Cadillac dealers in
the country at the recent Cadillac Dealer Announcement Show in Las
Vegas; in his many years as part of the business community, Mr. Conte
has participated in many civic and charitable organizations; and
WHEREAS, Paul Conte was past president of the Hempstead Rotary Club,
past president of the Hempstead Chamber of Commerce and past president
of the Freeport Exchange Club; he has also served as Director of the
Freeport Chamber of Commerce and has also been named as the "Man of the
Year" by Molloy College, the De La Salle School, the Freeport Salvation
Army, the Freeport Boy Scouts, the South Shore Guidance Center, the
Freeport Chamber of Commerce, the Hempstead for Hofstra Association and
the Nassau County Mental Health Association; and
WHEREAS, In 2010, Paul Conte was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the
Long Island Business Development Council; he is currently a director of
long standing of the Greater New York Auto Dealers Association and the
New York State Auto Dealers Association and was twice named Dealer of
the Year by TIME MAGAZINE, a national award given to only 60 dealers out
of a possible 20,000; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Paul Conte Cadillac, Inc. upon the occasion of its desig-
nation as a recipient of a Dealer of the Year Award by General Motors;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Paul Conte.
