LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Wantagh Bay Yacht Club upon the
occasion of hosting their 20th Anniversary Memorial Day Celebration and
Blessing of the Fleet on Sunday, May 27, 2012

WHEREAS, Recreational boating is fun as well as an enjoyable activity in
which many New York State residents actively participate during the
summer months; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge organizations of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the complexion of this majestic Empire
State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Wantagh Bay Yacht Club upon the occasion of hosting their 20th Anni-
versary Memorial Day Celebration and Blessing of the Fleet on Sunday,
May 27, 2012, at Wantagh Park; and
WHEREAS, This special anniversary event will provide a marvelous way
to relax, celebrate the Club's past, and enjoy the beauty of the Wantagh
Bay; and
WHEREAS, Currently, the Wantagh Bay Yacht Club is under the able lead-
ership of Commodore, John Rogers; throughout his term, he has contrib-
uted greatly to the success of the Club; and
WHEREAS, The rich history of the Wantagh Bay Yacht Club has formed it
into the prominent organization it is today; in so effectively carrying
out its mission, the Club exemplifies a spirit of community pride, and
demonstrates the values of hard work, cooperative effort and enduring
fellowship; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Wantagh Bay Yacht Club upon the occasion of hosting their
20th Anniversary Memorial Day Celebration and Blessing of the Fleet on
Sunday, May 27, 2012; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to John Rogers, Commodore, Wantagh Bay Yacht Club.
