LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Maryann Zinzi upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Recognition for Blood Services Award by
the American Red Cross of Mid-Hudson Valley

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Maryann Zinzi has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Maryann Zinzi
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Recognition for
Blood Services Award by the American Red Cross of Mid-Hudson Valley, to
be celebrated at its Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Dinner on
Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at the Dutchess Golf and Country Club in Pough-
keepsie, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Recognition for Blood Services Award is given to a volun-
teer who has lent extraordinary talent, leadership, or service to the
chapter through blood service duties, who exemplifies the ideals and
mission of the Red Cross, and consistently renders outstanding service
above the requirements of the job; and
WHEREAS, During her first year as a volunteer, Maryann Zinzi helped
with a fundraiser; she wanted to become more active and took on volun-
teering at blood drives; and
WHEREAS, Maryann Zinzi helps at several blood drives a month and has
helped manage the blood service volunteer list by contacting each volun-
teer to update their contact information and engage those who were less
active; and
WHEREAS, Moreover, she supports the blood drive staff and has built a
partnership by sponsoring a blood drive at her roller rink on a regular
basis; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her blood service work, Maryann Zinzi volun-
teers for Emergency Services, Community Events and for the Awards Recog-
nition Committee; and
WHEREAS, Maryann Zinzi has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Maryann Zinzi has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Maryann Zinzi has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Maryann Zinzi upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Recognition for Blood Services Award by the American Red Cross of
Mid-Hudson Valley; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Maryann Zinzi.
