LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Bob Siracusano upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2012 Businessman of the Year Award by
the Saugerties Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, Organizations and individuals which serve the economic well-be-
ing and interests of the people of this great Empire State merit the
commendation of this Legislative Body; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of business
organizations and individuals that generously contribute to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Bob
Siracusano upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2012
Businessman of the Year Award by the Saugerties Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Bob Siracusano of Saugerties, New York, is the owner, along
with his brother, Larry, of the largest car dealership in Saugerties,
Sawyer Motors; the dealership has been in business since 1934; and
WHEREAS, A veteran of the United States Army, Bob Siracusano moved to
Saugerties, New York, at the age of 14; prior to purchasing Sawyer
Motors in 1990, he worked for Sears in retail sales for 18 years; and
WHEREAS, Best known for the philanthropic work he does in the communi-
ty, Bob Siracusano annually volunteers to administer the Sawyer Motors
Car Show; in addition, he organizes the annual Holiday in the Village
celebration to provide countless toys to young children; and
WHEREAS, Bob Siracusano also supports the gala and golf tournament to
raise funds for the Saugerties Athletic Association; this year he will
be supporting the Make-a-Wish foundation; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Bob Siracusano and
Sawyer Motors of Saugerties, New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when business
organizations and individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Bob Siracusano upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2012 Businessman of the Year Award by the Saugerties Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bob Siracusano, Saugerties, New York.
