LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Community Foundation of Herkimer
and Oneida Counties, Inc. upon the occasion of celebrating its 60th
Anniversary on June 8, 2012

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, Inc. upon the
occasion of celebrating its 60th Anniversary, to be celebrated at its
60th Anniversary Event on Friday, June 8, 2012, at the Munson-Williams-
Proctor Arts Institute in Utica, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties,
Inc. is a nonprofit, public charity that provides stewardship for over
230 charitable funds created by and for the residents of Herkimer and
Oneida counties; and
WHEREAS, The Foundation began in 1952, with the vision of a small
group of local leaders to create a vehicle through which philanthropi-
cally-minded individuals could support the community's welfare forever;
and
WHEREAS, Over the past 60 years, the Community Foundation of Herkimer
and Oneida Counties, Inc. has grown and evolved to the leadership role
on community issues it plays today; and
WHEREAS, Today, the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Coun-
ties, Inc. continues its mission to improve the lives and livelihood in
its region and advance leadership on community solutions and philanthro-
py that connect people that care with causes that matter; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, Inc.
upon the occasion of celebrating its 60th Anniversary on June 8, 2012;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties,
Inc.
