LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the students of Our Lady of Victo-
ry upon the occasion of becoming finalists in the 2012 Respect Life
Contest

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commend and pay
tribute to those young people who, by achieving outstanding success in
educational competition, have inspired and brought pride to our majestic
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late the students of Our Lady of Victory upon the occasion of becoming
finalists in the 2012 Respect Life Contest; and
WHEREAS, The theme for this year's Respect Life Contest was, "I came
so that all might have life and have it to the full"; and
WHEREAS, The eighth-grade girls from Our Lady of Victory school who
were finalists in the 2012 Respect Life Contest are: Erin Cullen, essay
finalist; Taylor May, poetry finalist; Emily Sandfrod, video clip, first
place; Elena Perez, photography, second place; and Brigid Lynn, bookmark
design finalist; and
WHEREAS, The students' mentors, Mrs. McAloon and Miss Mangione have
done a superb job in guiding, molding and inspiring these students
toward their goals; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, these
scholars now stand honorably, with just pride in their accomplishments
and in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appre-
ciating the caring counsel and support provided by their teachers and
parents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the students of Our Lady of Victory upon the occasion of
becoming finalists in the 2012 Respect Life Contest; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the aforementioned finalists.
