LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Sarah Chapin and Nirmita Doshi
upon the occasion of capturing first and third place in the Intel
Science/Engineering Fair

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commend and pay
tribute to those young people who, by achieving outstanding success in
educational competition, have inspired and brought pride to our majestic
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Sarah Chapin and Nirmita Doshi upon the occasion of capturing first
and third place in the Intel Science/Engineering Fair on March 26, 2012;
and
WHEREAS, A senior at Herricks High School, Sarah Chapin received a
first place award in chemistry; subsequently, she was selected to
compete on the international level at the Intel International Science
and Engineering Fair which was held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from May
12-19, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Also a senior at Herricks High School, Nirmita Doshi was
recognized with the third place award in chemistry; and
WHEREAS, The students' mentor, Renee Barcia has done a superb job in
guiding, molding and inspiring the two students toward their goals; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Sarah Chapin and Nirmita Doshi upon the occasion of captur-
ing first and third place in the Intel Science/Engineering Fair; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sarah Chapin and Nirmita Doshi.
