LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Minister Willie G. Briggs IV upon the
occasion of his designation for special recognition by Hope In You Inc.
on June 17, 2012

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Minister Willie G. Briggs IV has given not only of his time
and energies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Minister
Willie G. Briggs IV upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by Hope In You Inc., to be celebrated at its first annual
Dancing with My Father Banquet on Sunday, June 17, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Minister Willie G. Briggs has been called upon to contribute
his time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Minister Willie G. Briggs attended Northern Baptist School of
religion, where he received his certificates in Mythology and Theology
while working toward his Doctorate; he has completed classes in General
Bible, Greek, Post Grad, Evangelism, and Master; he also holds a bach-
elor's degree in theology; and
WHEREAS, Called to ministry in 1996, Minister Willie G. Briggs began
his ministry as an altar worker and a singer, sharing the gospel with
different organizations; and
WHEREAS, In 2003, Minister Willie G. Briggs was called to an associ-
ated minister for Trinity Baptist church in Hackensack, New Jersey; he
then began to further his ministry in New York at New Greater Bethel
Ministries, Hollis, New York; and
WHEREAS, Minister Willie G. Briggs has been involved in a number of
community based outreach services which have included, Busy bee, Appota,
Youth coordinator, Prison ministry, New member, Altar worker, Street
witnessing, and Armor bearing; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Minister Willie G. Briggs has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout has been his wife, Renee, who feels priv-
ileged to be a part of his life and rejoices in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Minister Willie G. Briggs IV has
displayed throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Minister Willie G. Briggs IV upon the occasion of his desig-
nation for special recognition by Hope In You Inc. on June 17, 2012; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Minister Willie G. Briggs IV.
