LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Makenzi Stevenson upon the occa-
sion of receiving the Dave "Huffer" Gebo Award and the NAC Central Divi-
sion Most Valuable Player Award

WHEREAS, Makenzi Stevenson, through her diligence and rigorous efforts,
has been awarded both the Dave "Huffer" Gebo Award and the NAC Central
Division Most Valuable Player Award; and
WHEREAS, Makenzi Stevenson is a senior and a four-year starting pitch-
er for the Ogdensburg Free Academy softball team in Ogdensburg, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Makenzi Stevenson, and her team captured the Section 10 Class
B Championship, when she pitched a three-hit shutout with nine strike-
outs against the defending champion Canton Golden Bears; and
WHEREAS, Makenzi Stevenson set a new school record for career victo-
ries by a pitcher with 40 wins, besting the old record of 32 wins, and
also achieved a school record in wins per season with thirteen victo-
ries; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young woman was honored for her efforts
receiving both the Dave "Huffer" Gebo Award and the NAC Central Division
Most Valuable Player Award; and
WHEREAS, The Dave "Huffer" Gebo Award is presented for outstanding
ability, leadership and citizenship throughout a student athlete's
varsity career; and
WHEREAS, Makenzi Stevenson's perseverance in rising through the ranks
of high school softball players is a strong indication of her ability to
master difficult tasks; her accomplishments will enable her to emerge as
a leader, fully equipped to meet the challenges of today's complex soci-
ety; and
WHEREAS, Makenzi Stevenson will attend Le Moyne College in Syracuse,
New York in the Fall of 2012, where she has been awarded a Presidential
Scholarship; and
WHEREAS, Makenzi Stevenson is a credit to her family, her school, her
community, her State and her Nation, and no doubt her future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Makenzi Stevenson on receiving both the Dave
"Huffer" Gebo Award and the NAC Central Division Most Valuable Player
Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Makenzi Stevenson.
