LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating James Starks, a member of the
Green Bay Packers, for his significant contributions to winning Super-
bowl XLV

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
outstanding professional athletes who distinguish themselves through
their exceptional performance, attaining unprecedented success and the
highest level of personal achievement; and
WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be achieved
only through strenuous practice; James Starks' dedication to athletics
is a year-round, everyday commitment; he is highly focused and has
developed a matchless work ethic; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate James
Starks, a member of the Green Bay Packers, for his significant contrib-
utions to winning Superbowl XLV on Sunday, February 6, 2011, in Arling-
ton, Texas; and
WHEREAS,James Starks is a graduate of both Niagara Falls High School
and the University at Buffalo; and
WHEREAS, As a key running back, James Starks performed admirably for
the Green Bay Packers professional football team during the National
Football League's postseason; and
WHEREAS, In Super Bowl XLV, James Starks and his Green Bay Packers
teammates were watched by tens of millions of viewers throughout the
world; and
WHEREAS, James Starks' exemplary performances for the Green Bay Pack-
ers professional football team are reflective of his dedication, deter-
mination and personal commitment; his achievements stand as a hallmark
of what is best in the families and communities across New York State;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his outstanding athletic
career, James Starks has stood constant in dignity, good grace and
humor, and has earned the respect and admiration of his coaches, team-
mates and opponents; and
WHEREAS, The auspicious occasion of Super Bowl XLV represents a unique
opportunity for this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to
James Starks and his exceptional athletic prowess and achievements; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to honor James Starks for his
extraordinary athletic accomplishments which are a tribute to his skill,
dedication and commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate James Starks, a member of the Green Bay Packers, for his
significant contributions to winning Superbowl XLV; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to James Starks.
