LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring F. Michael Tucker upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the Explore, Discover, Imagine Community
Award by the Children's Museum of Science and Technology

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, F. Michael Tucker has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor F. Michael
Tucker upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Explore,
Discover, Imagine Community Award by the Children's Museum of Science
and Technology, to be observed at its 58th Anniversary celebration on
Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Pat's Barn in the Rensselaer Technology Park
in Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Villanova University and the Villanova School
of Law, F. Michael Tucker is an attorney and a licensed real estate
broker who is active in legal, real estate and economic development
organizations at the local, state and national levels; and
WHEREAS, F. Michael Tucker has extensive experience in business,
economic development and energy related issues; and
WHEREAS, For more than 25 years, F. Michael Tucker was a principal
with Mercer Companies, Inc., an Albany based real estate and energy
development firm; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure, F. Michael Tucker oversaw the development,
financing and operation of Mercer's commercial office, senior housing
and hydroelectric projects throughout New York State; he was also
responsible for Mercer's property management and real estate brokerage
services; and
WHEREAS, F. Michael Tucker also served as President of the Harriman
Research and Technology Development Corporation where he was responsible
for initiating and overseeing the redevelopment of the 300-acre W.A.
Harriman State Office Campus into a world class Research and Technology
Park; and
WHEREAS, F. Michael Tucker has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, In March of 2007, F. Michael Tucker was appointed President
of the Center for Economic Growth; the center is a regional, not-for-
profit, private-sector economic development organization promoting
growth through accomplishment of strategic initiatives, industry
attraction and regional outreach; and
WHEREAS, A valued and involved member of his community, F. Michael
Tucker served as the Chairman of the Town of Bethlehem Industrial Devel-
opment Agency and he is a Trustee of Ulster Savings Bank; and
WHEREAS, F. Michael Tucker currently serves as a Director of the New
York State Economic Development Council and is on the boards of numerous
not-for-profit organizations throughout Tech Valley; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, F. Michael Tucker has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which F. Michael Tucker has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-

tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor F. Michael Tucker upon the occasion of his designation as recipi-
ent of the Explore, Discover, Imagine Community Award by the Children's
Museum of Science and Technology on June 14, 2012; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to F. Michael Tucker.
