LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Gerry Ryan upon the occasion of his
designation as the recipient of the Jack Lessing Meritorious Service
Award by St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those individuals who have shown a long-standing commitment
to improving the quality of life in their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Gerry Ryan upon the occasion of his designation as the recipient of the
Jack Lessing Meritorious Service Award by St. John the Baptist Diocesan
High School, to be celebrated at its Men of Vision Gentlemen's Dinner on
Tuesday, June 19, 2012; and
WHEREAS, A 1975 graduate of St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School,
Gerry Ryan is a former member of St. John the Baptist Board of Advisors
and Development Committee; he is also a former co-chair of St. John the
Baptist Sports Committee for the creation of the athletic complex; and
WHEREAS, Having earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business
Management from Niagara University in 1979, Gerry Ryan is President of
Emerald Document Imaging located in Holbrook, New York; he is a lifelong
resident of West Islip and a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church;
and
WHEREAS, Active in his community, Gerry Ryan is a youth coach for Our
Lady of Lourdes CYO basketball, a West Islip Soccer Club coach and a
West Islip Little League coach; he is a former board member for the
Babylon Yacht Club and a former Catholic Middle School Sports Associ-
ation coordinator at Our Lady of Lourdes; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Peggy, and their
children Emmett, Caitlin, Andrew, Danny and Meggy, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Gerry Ryan upon the occasion of his designation as the recipient
of the Jack Lessing Meritorious Service Award by St. John the Baptist
Diocesan High School; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Gerry Ryan.
