LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Mr. David E. Panebaker posthumously upon
the occasion of being inducted into the Liberty Central School District
Wall of Fame

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to call attention to
those special individuals who devoted their time and energies to the
enrichment of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
David Panebaker posthumously upon the occasion of being inducted into
the Liberty Central School District Wall of Fame, to be celebrated on
June 23, 2012; and
WHEREAS, The Wall of Fame is located in the lobby of the David E.
Panebaker Auditorium at Liberty High School; it was created by the Board
of Education as a way to honor Liberty alumni, past employees and commu-
nity members who have made a lasting impact, and outstanding contrib-
ution to society, and to the Liberty community; and
WHEREAS, David E. Panebaker for whom the Liberty High School auditori-
um is named, was the high school principal from 1931-1965; during his
tenure, major programs were added to Liberty's curriculum, including
instrumental music, orchestra, and home economics; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Panebaker served on numerous community boards, including
the first Board of Trustees for Sullivan County Community College; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mr. David E. Panebaker posthumously upon the occasion of being
inducted into the Liberty Central School District Wall of Fame; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Mr. David E. Panebaker.
