LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 15th Anniversary of the
Children/Youth Choir of the Holy Trinity Baptist Church of Brooklyn, New
York

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to celebrate the
milestones of those noble institutions which serve to support the youth
of today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 15th Anniversary of the Children/Youth Choir of the Holy Trin-
ity Baptist Church of Brooklyn, New York, to be celebrated on Sunday,
June 24, 2012, during the morning worship service; and
WHEREAS, The Holy Trinity Baptist Church was founded on May 24, 1899,
at Ormond Place in the Borough of Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Children/Youth Choir of the Holy Trinity Baptist Church
was established 15 years ago under the tutelage of the late Reverend Dr.
O.B.J. Burson; and
WHEREAS, Today, under the luminous leadership of Reverend Dr. Samuel
B. Joubert, Sr., the Youth Choir has grown tremendously and is beginning
fresh with its youth with new perspectives; and
WHEREAS, In addition, under Reverend Dr. Samuel B. Joubert's leader-
ship, the congregation of the Holy Trinity Baptist Church has taken on
new growth and spiritual enthusiasm; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those religious institutions of true purpose and high achieve-
ment whose exemplary programs and accomplishments clearly demonstrate an
enduring pursuit of excellence in the development of the youth of this
noble Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 15th Anniversary of the Children/Youth Choir of the Holy
Trinity Baptist Church of Brooklyn, New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Children/Youth Choir of the Holy Trinity Baptist Church.
