LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring community leader Harry A. Jacobs, Jr.
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the inaugural Dr.
Edward Livingston Trudeau Award by the Adirondack Health Foundation

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State with
their strong contributions to the community and model citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
community leader Harry A. Jacobs, Jr. upon the occasion of his desig-
nation as recipient of the Dr. Edward Livingston Trudeau Award by the
Adirondack Health Foundation, to be celebrated on Saturday, July 7,
2012; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Board of Trustees of the Adirondack Health
Foundation, Harry A. Jacobs, Jr. has contributed his time and talents to
countless civic and charitable endeavors and consequently has been
designated for this special honor; and
WHEREAS, Harry A. Jacobs, Jr. has served on the Adirondack Health
Foundation Board for seven years and has served on the Finance Committee
for all seven years; and
WHEREAS, Born in New York City on June 28, 1921, Harry A. Jacobs, Jr.
has been coming to Lake Placid for vacations since he was two years old
and he is passionate about his love of family, Lake Placid and the
Adirondack Mountains, flying, and skiing; and
WHEREAS, Harry A. Jacobs, Jr. built a distinguished career on Wall
Street, retiring as CEO of Prudential Bache; and having served on the
Board of Governors of the New York Stock Exchange; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Harry A. Jacobs, Jr., upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Dr. Edward Livingston Trudeau Award by the Adirondack
Health Foundation Board of Trustees; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Harry A. Jacobs, Jr.
