LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Janice Haywood upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Janice Haywood has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Janice Haywood upon the occasion of her designation for special recogni-
tion, to be celebrated on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at the Annual Tots
and Teens In Focus Award Dinner; and
WHEREAS, Born in Georgetown, Guyana, Janice Haywood is a Board Member
of Tots and Teens In Focus; she migrated to the United States 30 years
ago and currently lives in New York City with her husband and two chil-
dren, along with her granddaughter; and
WHEREAS, Janice Haywood holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Manage-
ment from the University of Phoenix and is currently pursuing her
Master's degree in Business Management; she is employed by a major phar-
maceutical company; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Janice Haywood's distinguished
record merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative
Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Janice Haywood upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Janice Haywood.
