LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Leslie Valencia LaGuardia upon the occa-
sion of her designation as recipient of the To Life! Community Advocate
Award

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Leslie Valencia LaGuardia upon the occasion of her designation as recip-
ient of the To Life! Community Advocate Award; and
WHEREAS, This fine event will take place at To Life's! 8th Annual Pink
Ball on Friday, October 26, 2012, at the Hall of Springs in Saratoga,
New York; and
WHEREAS, Leslie LaGuardia is Public Relations Consultant and long-time
owner of the Saratoga Springs Arthur Murray Dance Studio; she joined the
Arthur Murray New York City team after owning her own franchise in Sara-
toga Springs for more than 25 years; and
WHEREAS, Leslie LaGuardia began as a student of Arthur Murray Dance
Centers before working as a dancer on Dick Clark's American Band Stand
for several years; she is now managing the Williston Park studio as well
as the Saratoga Springs studio; and
WHEREAS, A well-known motivational speaker, Leslie LaGuardia is also
an official on the Board for the National Museum of Dance and Hall of
Fame; she has been a driving force in the business community in Saratoga
Springs and has been active as a small business owner at many community
events; and
WHEREAS, Leslie LaGuardia has been a tireless mentor to newly diag-
nosed women with breast cancer; her compassion and knowledge have
provided solace to many women throughout the capital district and
beyond; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Leslie LaGuardia's distinguished
record merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative
Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Leslie Valencia LaGuardia upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the To Life! Community Advocate; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Leslie Valencia LaGuardia.
