LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Michelle Flannory upon the occasion of
her designation as the 2010-2011 Teacher of the Year by Elmont Memorial
High School

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the efforts
of those individuals in the teaching profession who distinguish them-
selves in their dedication and commitment to their students; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Michelle Flannory upon the occasion of her designation as the 2010-2011
Teacher of the Year by Elmont Memorial High School; and
WHEREAS, After beginning her career, Michelle Flannory immediately
became an integral part of the Elmont Memorial High School community;
since that time, she has never stopped developing and growing as a
professional educator, serving as a role model and mentor to not only
her students but to her fellow faculty members as well; and
WHEREAS, In the classroom, Michelle Flannory shares interactive learn-
ing experiences with her students so they are all a part of the learning
process; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure, Michelle Flannory has taught Science at
Elmont High School; she works tirelessly to make certain her students
are equipped with the tools necessary to not only succeed in the class-
room but for continued success throughout their lifetimes; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her time in the classroom, Michelle Flannory
serves as Director of the Science Research Project, and as School Coach,
as well as acts as both a mentor and leader for other professionals in
her school; she is highly respected by both the students and the faculty
of Elmont Memorial High School; and
WHEREAS, A teacher of singular distinction, Michelle Flannory spreads
the spirit of learning throughout the entire school district; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her career thus far, Michelle Flannory has brought
an uncompromising standard of excellence to her work and a warm sense of
caring and concern to every young person she educates; and
WHEREAS, The future success of our State and Nation is dependent upon
individuals such as Michelle Flannory, who dedicate their lives as
educators, nurturing our most precious resource, our youth; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Michelle Flannory upon the occasion of her designation as the
2010-2011 Teacher of the Year by Elmont Memorial High School; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michelle Flannory.
