LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Highland Park Community Develop-
ment Corporation upon the occasion of hosting its Annual Gala

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Highland Park Community Development Corporation upon the occasion of
hosting its Annual Gala on Friday, March 18, 2011, in Brooklyn, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Highland Park Community Development Corporation's goals are
to provide innovative programs for youth leadership, education, drug
abuse prevention and health related services; since 1998, it has
listened to the needs of children, families, and seniors to create some
very innovative programs in the Brooklyn, New York area; and
WHEREAS, The Highland Park Community Development Corporation is
committed to collaborating with other community based providers to serve
the multiple needs of all its communities; the organization uses the
facilities of its partners in the Brooklyn communities, many of these
include schools, churches, shelters and community centers; and
WHEREAS, All of the facilities the Highland Park Community Development
Corporation utilizes are easily accessible to public transportation,
comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and have open doors to
the children, families and elderly that Highland Park Community Develop-
ment seeks to serve; and
WHEREAS, With a dedicated staff and ably led by Executive Director
Robert Santiago, the Highland Park Community Development Corporation
continues to prosper today and into the future; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Highland Park Community Development Corporation upon the
occasion of hosting its Annual Gala; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robert Santiago, Executive Director, Highland Park Community
Development Corporation.
