LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Salvatore Marranca upon the occasion of
being named Chairman of the Independent Community Bankers of America

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those individuals within the Empire State who have made
strong contributions to their communities and who inspire others through
their model citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Salvatore Marranca upon the occasion of being named Chairman of the
Independent Community Bankers of America; and
WHEREAS, The Independent Community Bankers of America represents near-
ly 5,000 community banks throughout the United States including communi-
ty banks located in New York State; he will begin his tenure as Chairman
on March 24, 2011; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Little Valley, New York, Salvatore Marranca is
the President and CEO of Cattaraugus County Bank which has served its
community since it opened in 1902, and now totals over $175 million in
assets; and
WHEREAS, Salvatore Marranca is a Director and past President of the
Independent Bankers Association of New York State; and
WHEREAS, His experience includes serving as a former member of the New
York State Banking Department Board and as a senior bank examiner at the
Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; he also served a tour of duty in
the United States Army during the Vietnam War; and
WHEREAS, Salvatore Marranca is an active member of his community serv-
ing as a Trustee of the New Directions Youth Foundation and a Director
of the Cattaraugus County Industrial Development Agency; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize those extraordinary individuals who have made significant contrib-
utions to the success and progress of society in the course of their
life's work; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Salvatore Marranca upon the occasion of being named Chairman of
the Independent Community Bankers of America; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Salvatore Marranca.
