LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Robert J. Bennett upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the Wolcott "Jay" Humphrey III Excel-
lence in Community Leadership Award by the Genesee County Chamber of
Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
applaud the leaders of commerce and industry whose accomplishments
contribute to the economic health and prosperity of the communities of
the State of New York and to the quality of life of its people; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Robert J.
Bennett upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Wolcott
"Jay" Humphrey III Excellence in Community Leadership Award by the Gene-
see County Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its Awards Dinner on
Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Clarion Hotel in Batavia, New York; and
WHEREAS, This special event is to also celebrate the Chamber's 39th
Annual Awards Ceremony; and
WHEREAS, This most prestigious award is bestowed upon an individual
who exemplifies the spirit, philosophy and vision of Jay Humphrey; key
factors for the honor include vision for the County as a whole, being an
active business person in Genesee County, having a history of signif-
icant personal volunteer contributions, a corporate commitment to volun-
teerism, as well as encouraging their own employees to volunteer for the
greater good of the community; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Le Roy, New York, and a Genesee Community
College graduate, Robert Bennett was a friend of the late Wolcott "Jay"
Humphrey III who both worked together at Wyoming County Bank; Robert
Bennett is currently vice president of business development for the Bank
of Castile; and
WHEREAS, In the community, Robert Bennett has chaired the United Way
campaign, served on various boards, and is past president of the Le Roy
Rotary; in 2009, he was named Champions' Coach of the Year; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Robert Bennett's distinguished
record merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative
Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Robert J. Bennett upon the occasion of his designation as recipi-
ent of the Wolcott "Jay" Humphrey III Excellence in Community Leadership
Award by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robert J. Bennett.
