LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Nikolas Dejesus upon the occasion of
being named a finalist for the 2011 New York State Boys and Girls Clubs'
Youth of the Year Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young people who have made strong contributions to
their communities and serve as role models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Nikolas Dejesus upon the occasion of being named a finalist for the 2011
New York State Boys and Girls Clubs' Youth of the Year Award; and
WHEREAS, Nikolas Dejesus, a 17 year old from Saugerties, New York,
will proudly represent his community on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, when
the New York State Alliance of Boys and Girls Clubs hosts the New York
State Youth of the Year Legislative Luncheon at the Empire State Plaza
in Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Exemplifying the best potential which is inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth, Nikolas Dejesus of the Boys and Girls
Club's Saugerties Unit has established a purposefulness of life and
brought enduring honor to his family and community through his many
achievements; and
WHEREAS, Nikolas Dejesus has been a member of Boys and Girls Clubs for
almost four years; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, Niko-
las Dejesus now stands honorably with just pride in his accomplishments
and in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appre-
ciating the caring counsel and support provided by his teachers, friends
and family; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Nikolas Dejesus upon the occasion of being named a finalist for
the 2011 New York State Boys and Girls Clubs' Youth of the Year Award;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Nikolas Dejesus.
