LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating John Morrison upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the 2011 Chamber Member of the Year
Award by the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of individuals that
generously contribute to the welfare of the community and its citizenry;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late John Morrison upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2011 Chamber Member of the Year Award by the West Seneca Chamber of
Commerce; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious event will be celebrated at the 64th Annual
West Seneca Chamber of Commerce Community Awards Dinner held at
Kotecki's Grandview Grove, West Seneca, New York, on Thursday, March 3,
2011; and
WHEREAS, John Morrison is Chief Executive Officer of Financial Trust
Federal Credit Union, an institution that has long been affiliated with
the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce; inspired by his company's involve-
ment, John Morrison became a Chamber board member; and
WHEREAS, As a member of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce, John
Morrison has been instrumental in promoting the Chamber and recruiting
new membership; an eager contributor and genuinely interested in the
welfare of the people, he has been involved in the majority of Chamber
events; and
WHEREAS, Active in many other community organizations, John Morrison
is currently serving as Treasurer of the Board for Financial Trust; he
is also on the board of the United Irish American Association of Erie
County Inc., and is an Advisory Board Member for the West Seneca School
District's Academy of Finance; and
WHEREAS, In addition to being selected as the 2011 Chamber Member of
the Year, John Morrison was acknowledged for "Making an Impact in the
Financial Community" by BUSINESS FIRST, and also elected Grand Marshal
of the 66th Annual Buffalo St. Patrick's Day Parade; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Denice, and their two
children, Aryn and Jason, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of
his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, John Morrison has
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the
respect and admiration of his colleagues, family and friends; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when an indi-
vidual of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our atten-
tion, he should be recognized by all the citizens of this great Empire
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate John Morrison upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the 2011 Chamber Member of the Year Award by the West Sene-
ca Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to John Morrison, Orchard Park, New York.
