LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Wayne Garnsey upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Cornwall Yacht Club, Inc.

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Wayne Garnsey has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Wayne Garnsey
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Cornwall Yacht Club, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Wayne Garnsey has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, As secretary of the Cornwall Yacht Club, Wayne Garnsey has
distinguished himself through his many years of exemplary service; as of
this year, he has decided to retire from the position; and
WHEREAS, Wayne Garnsey has been taking notes at the Cornwall Yacht
Club faithfully for over a decade; in addition to reading minutes, he
occasionally quotes a bylaw which he easily pulls from memory; and
WHEREAS, Wayne Garnsey has also been responsible for the newsletters
and other correspondence, such as notifying members of a death and send-
ing out get well cards; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, Wayne Garnsey has gone above and beyond the
call of duty; he has donated much of his time and effort into the
betterment of the Cornwall Yacht Club; and
WHEREAS, Wayne Garnsey has been instrumental in the recent growth and
progress of the Cornwall Yacht Club, serving on numerous committees; and
WHEREAS, Behind the scenes, Wayne Garnsey has been transferring most
of the club records, correspondence and business from the early days of
the club to the present, to digital format; and
WHEREAS, Wayne Garnsey also offers his time helping out the ladies
auxiliary by printing lotto tickets, invitations, posting announcements
in the newsletters and sending out mass emails keeping all informed of
their happenings; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his hard work as secretary, Wayne Garnsey has
made several donations to the Cornwall Yacht Club including an AED Defi-
brillator, a popcorn machine, and numerous decorations; and
WHEREAS, Aside from his service to the Cornwall Yacht Club, Wayne
Garnsey has been a very involved member of the Storm King Power Squa-
dron; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Wayne Garnsey has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Wayne Garnsey has displayed through-
out his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations honor-
ing Wayne Garnsey upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Cornwall Yacht Club, Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Wayne Garnsey.
