LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Arctic Refrigeration Company upon
the occasion of its designation as the 2011 Business of the Year by the
Genesee County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend
the Arctic Refrigeration Company upon the occasion of its designation as
the 2011 Business of the Year by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce,
to be celebrated at its Annual Awards Ceremony on Saturday, April 14,
2012, at the Clarion Hotel in Batavia, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Arctic Refrigeration Company is a third generation busi-
ness which continues to operate on the fundamentals established by its
founders, Henry Mager and his brother Leo Mager in 1947; Henry's wife,
Kay Mager served as the company's first office manager; and
WHEREAS, One by one, Henry Mager's three sons joined the Arctic
Refrigeration Company; Mike Mager joined in the mid 1970s; Bill Mager
joined the company in 1980, and Richard Mager joined a few years later;
their sister, Teresa Tamfer has been office manager since 1991; and
WHEREAS, Henry Mager's grandsons, Justin and Jonathan joined the
Arctic Refrigeration Company in 2006 and 2008, respectively; and
WHEREAS, In addition to providing services for residential customers,
the Arctic Refrigeration Company does a large amount of heating, venti-
lation, and air conditioning for the commercial and industrial segments;
and
WHEREAS, The Arctic Refrigeration Company is one of only a few compa-
nies which is at the forefront of refrigeration and ventilation for the
crop industry; their work with fruits and vegetables spans New York
State and half a dozen other states; and
WHEREAS, The Arctic Refrigeration Company is forging ahead in business
by embracing new technology; and
WHEREAS, In 2009, ground was broken on a new 4,000 square-foot home on
Saile Drive, for which Arctic Refrigeration designed and installed a
geo-thermal heating and cooling system; this project marks one of the
first geo-thermal homes in Genesse County; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Arctic Refrigeration Company upon the occasion of its desig-
nation as the 2011 Business of the Year by the Genesee County Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Arctic Refrigeration Company.
