LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Gina Falisi upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the New York Conference of Italian-American
State Legislators Scholarship

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, honoring the young adults of today, and
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Gina Falisi upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the New
York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators Scholarship; and
WHEREAS, Ranked in the top 1% of her high school graduating class,
Gina Falisi is currently enrolled for Fall 2012 in the University Schol-
ars Program at Stony Brook University as a freshman majoring in Psychol-
ogy along with aspiring to a minor in Mathematics; her goals are geared
toward eventually attending graduate school studying in the medical
field with the plans of becoming a nurse practitioner; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Gina Falisi has displayed
exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community responsi-
bility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled; and
WHEREAS, A member of numerous high school clubs and teams, some of
which include the Varsity Tennis Team, Student Council, and Italian
Club, Gina Falisi has maintained a cumulative GPA at 99.4; she is the
recipient of the 2012-2013 New York State Academic Excellence Award and
Stony Brook University's Presidential Scholarship; and
WHEREAS, Gina Falisi, in achieving this high academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excel-
lence she brings to her family, friends, community and college; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Gina Falisi upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators Scholar-
ship, and to extend to her best wishes for a future of purposeful
success and well-being; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Gina Falisi.
