LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending CazCares upon the occasion of cele-
brating its 30th Anniversary

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
CazCares upon the occasion of celebrating its 30th Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, This most auspicious occasion was celebrated in conjunction
with CazCares' 4th Annual Open Your Heart event on May 12, 2012, at the
First Presbyterian Church of Cazenovia; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1982, CazCares was initially launched by six
local churches as an agency to offer emergency food and clothing to
those in need; and
WHEREAS, In the past thirty years, this non-profit organization has
moved out of the basement of the Atwell Mill to its own location at 101
Nelson Street; and
WHEREAS, Today, CazCares helps an average of 160 families each month
and has expanded its programming, which now includes a pre-school read-
ing curriculum as well as adult tutoring programs; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend CazCares upon the occasion of celebrating its 30th Anniversary;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to CazCares, Cazenovia, New York.
