LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Clare's
Studio of Dance in Wantagh, New York

WHEREAS, The arts, in whatever form depicted, are central to human
expression; they are truly a universal language and their contribution
to the development of friendship and understanding among all peoples
cannot be underestimated; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commemorate the 50th
Anniversary of Clare's Studio of Dance in Wantagh, New York, to be
observed during its Annual June Recital at Wantagh High School on Satur-
day, June 23, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Founded in September of 1961, by Clare Mundy, Clare's Studio
of Dance began with a total registration of 20 students; today, the
Studio teaches as many as 230 students each year; and
WHEREAS, Since the establishment of Clare's Studio of Dance, Clare
Mundy has valued each and every student that has walked through its
doors; she listens to their stories of success, their problems and
relationships, and develops long lasting relationships with each
student; and
WHEREAS, Ensuring that the experience is all about dance and the chil-
dren, Clare Mundy's students dance, have fun and learn values; and
WHEREAS, Clare Mundy designs, purchases material for, and guides moth-
ers in sewing of recital costumes to make dancing affordable for every-
one; her very modest tuition fees are representative of her love for
dance, teaching and most of all the kids; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion is truly special and represents
Clare Mundy's lifelong commitment to others; and
WHEREAS, This year's dance recital will feature women who are former
students of Clare's Studio of Dance, returning from across the country
to pay tribute to Clare Mundy for all she taught them and shared with
them; and
WHEREAS, The history, the heritage, and the lives of the people of all
countries and all cultures are portrayed in their music and dance; the
art and act of sharing them enriches us altogether; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Clare's Studio of Dance in Wantagh,
New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Clare Mundy, Clare's Studio of Dance, Wantagh, New York.
