LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Kyle Plante of Colonie Central
High School upon the occasion of capturing the New York State and Feder-
ation titles in the 400-meter dash

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body takes pleasure in honoring talented high
school athletes who distinguish themselves and their community through
outstanding athletic performance; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
congratulate Kyle Plante of Colonie Central High School upon the occa-
sion of capturing the New York State and Federation titles in the
400-meter dash; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Colonie Central High School, Kyle Plante capped
her outstanding high school track career by winning both the New York
State and Federation titles in the 400-meter dash at the New York State
High School Championships held at Cicero-North Syracuse High School; and
WHEREAS, Kyle Plante captured her second consecutive New York State
girls Division I, 400-meter championship with a time of 54.21, more than
two seconds faster than the runner-up; at the Federation event, her
first place finish was with a winning time of 53.60; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Kyle Plante ran the anchor leg for the Colonie
Central High School relay team as it finished in second place in the
1600-meter event in the Federation race; the school's relay team also
won the New York State Division I title; and
WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be achieved
only through strenuous practice; Kyle Plante's dedication to track is a
year-round, everyday commitment; she is highly focused and has developed
a matchless work ethic; and
WHEREAS, Kyle Plante's performance is reflective of her dedication,
determination and personal commitment; her achievements stand as a hall-
mark of what is best in the families, schools and communities across New
York State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Kyle Plante of Colonie Central High School upon the occa-
sion of capturing the New York State and Federation titles in the
400-meter dash, and to congratulate her for the enduring honor she has
brought to her family, her school and her community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed; be tran-
smitted to Kyle Plante.
