LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the North Colonie Central School
District upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the Best
Community for Music Education Award by the NAMM Foundation

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
musical programs within our schools which distinguish themselves through
their ability to inspire students to achieve excellence in musical
performance; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the North Colonie Central School District upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the Best Community for Music Education Award
by the NAMM Foundation; and
WHEREAS, The NAMM Foundation is a non-profit organization with the
mission of advancing active participation in music-making across the
lifespan by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving and
public service programs from the international music products industry;
and
WHEREAS, The Best Communities for Music Education program acknowledges
schools and districts across the United States for their commitment to
and support for music education in schools; and
WHEREAS, The administrators of the North Colonie Central School
District are committed to actively promoting and nurturing a comprehen-
sive music program for all the students of the district; and
WHEREAS, Those same administrators have been supportive, actively
encouraging music program staff to devote their time and energy to
developing the talents of their students; and
WHEREAS, Each young musician in the North Colonie Central Schools is
deserving of his or her own recognition and spotlight, for their remark-
able commitment and hours of practice in perfecting their musical abili-
ties; and
WHEREAS, Music study is most worthy of being encouraged and promoted,
as it provides an opportunity for students to exhibit their skills to an
audience, thereby giving them self-esteem to last a lifetime; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the North Colonie Central School District upon the occasion of
its designation as recipient of the Best Community for Music Education
Award by the NAMM Foundation; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to North Colonie Central School District.
