LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Pegasus Therapeutic Riding upon the
occasion of holding its 30th Annual Pegasus Horse Show on May 22, 2011

WHEREAS, Individuals and organizations devoted to improving the quality
of life for others, enabling them to build lives of dignity and self-
worth, are deserving of the highest praise and recognition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Pegasus Therapeutic Riding upon the occasion of holding its 30th Annual
Pegasus Horse Show, generously hosted by the Richter family at Coker
Farm in Bedford, New York on Sunday, May 22, 2011; and
WHEREAS, The Annual Pegasus Horse Show is a day of achievement and
fun; in addition to show classes, the event will include family-friendly
entertainment and refreshments; and
WHEREAS, Pegasus Therapeutic Riding is a nonprofit organization which
provides equine-assisted activities and therapies to more than 200 chil-
dren and adults with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities; and
WHEREAS, The Annual Pegasus Horse Show provides riders with special
needs the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments in a unique and
welcoming environment; demonstrating the skills they have learned all
year during the program, they share their triumphs with their families,
friends, and local community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those
illustrious organizations of the State of New York whose purposeful
endeavors serve to lift barriers, expand choices, and enhance the quali-
ty of life for all persons with disabilities; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Pegasus Therapeutic Riding upon the occasion of holding its 30th
Annual Pegasus Horse Show on May 22, 2011; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Pegasus Therapeutic Riding.
