LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kerry and Steve Cid upon the occasion of
their designation for special recognition by the Westchester County
Medical Center

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Kerry and Steve Cid have given not only of their time and
energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Kerry and
Steve Cid upon the occasion of their designation for special recognition
by the Westchester County Medical Center at its Annual Gala at 7 World
Trade Center in New York, New York, on Saturday, June 11, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Kerry and Steve Cid have been called upon to contribute their
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and have
always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Kerry Fedigan-Cid is the Founder and Executive Director of
Giving House, and Vice President at Prudential Douglas Elliman; she also
serves on the Board of Advisors for The Giving Back Fund, a national
charity whose goals are to help cultivate new philanthropists as well as
establish high-profile philanthropic role models who will inspire others
to give back to their communities; and
WHEREAS, Steve Cid is the Co-Founder of Giving House, and Senior Vice
President and Associate Broker at Prudential Douglas Elliman, one of the
oldest and largest real estate firms in the country; during his 18-year
career, he has brokered some of the most distinctive properties in the
New York City luxury market; and
WHEREAS, Both Kerry and Steve Cid always had a desire to give back to
the community and to enrich charitable organizations and institutions
where they live and work; and
WHEREAS, It was after their 11 year old daughter Olivia took a tumble
off her bike and was brought to Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at
Westchester Medical Center, that Kerry and Steve Cid had the idea to
start a program which would provide funding for worthy organizations
through real estate transactions; and
WHEREAS, Their gratitude and comfort for the outstanding care that
Olivia received at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital was their impetus
for starting Giving House, a sponsored project of The Giving Back Fund;
and
WHEREAS, Since Giving House was founded, Kerry and Steve Cid recruited
50 top real estate agents from various Westchester agencies to commit to
donating a portion of the commission from each "Giving House" sold to
Maria Fareri Children's Hospital; since the recent launch of the
program, an extensive amount in properties have been donated to the
Giving House program to benefit Maria Fareri Children's Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Kerry and Steve Cid have stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Kerry and Steve Cid reside in Tuckahoe, New York,
with their two daughters, Olivia and Ariana, both of whom feel privi-
leged to be part of their life and rejoice in their achievements; and
WHEREAS, Those individuals, who have given so selflessly of their
skills and dedication, are worthy and due full recognition for their
valued contributions on behalf of their country and its ideals, uphold-
ing the patriotic character and principled ideals of individuals in
service to their fellowman; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kerry and Steve Cid upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition by the Westchester County Medical Center; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kerry and Steve Cid.
