LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the Greater
Rochester Area Partnership for the Elderly

WHEREAS, It is the sense and tradition of this Legislative Body to
commend those individuals and agencies whose work has contributed to the
greatness of their communities and of this state, and who have achieved
milestones deserving of recognition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with long-
standing traditions, we are justly proud to commemorate the 20th Anni-
versary of the Greater Rochester Area Partnership for the Elderly
(G.R.A.P.E.), an organization dedicated to enhancing the lives and well-
being of the aging; and
WHEREAS, Formed in 1992, G.R.A.P.E. consists of more than 300 member
agencies, businesses and individuals who in one manner or another
address the issues faced by the elderly, from health care and continuing
education to consumer protection; and
WHEREAS, The professionals, business representatives, students and
volunteers who comprise the membership of G.R.A.P.E., recognize the
great and lasting contributions made by prior generations, and further
recognize the responsibility to ensure the aging experience be one
defined by dignity and compassion; and
WHEREAS, As part of its outreach efforts, G.R.A.P.E. publishes a
monthly newsletter, GRAPEVINE, and the ELDERPAGES DIRECTORY of community
resources; and
WHEREAS, G.R.A.P.E. also plays the role of advocate in the realm of
public policy, including the hosting of Town Halls where members may
present their concerns directly to elected leaders; and
WHEREAS, Through tireless commitment and dedication to its mission,
G.R.A.P.E. has become an indispensable source of support for the aging
population of the greater Rochester region; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Greater Rochester Area Partner-
ship for the Elderly, and to offer best wishes for continued success in
the coming years; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Greater Rochester Area Partnership for the Elderly.
