LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dan Burke upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the J. Walter Juckett Community Service
Award by the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dan
Burke upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the J.
Walter Juckett Community Service Award by the Adirondack Regional Cham-
ber of Commerce on Thursday, February 9, 2012; and
WHEREAS, This special event will be held at Heritage Hall in the Glens
Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, New York; and
WHEREAS, Dan Burke, who has been the Glens Falls Regional President of
NBT since June 2007, has 25 years of banking experience, including serv-
ing as president and chief executive officer of TD Banknorth New York
and its predecessor, Evergreen Bank; over the years, he held several
senior-level positions, including executive vice president of retail
banking and senior vice president of marketing; and
WHEREAS, Before entering the banking industry, Dan Burke was a
consultant and federal employee in Washington, D.C. for ten years; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Queensbury, Dan Burke holds a bachelor's degree
and master's degree in economics from the State University of New York
at Plattsburgh and the University of Delaware, respectively; he is
affiliated with numerous professional and community organizations,
including: Glens Falls YMCA Board of Trustees; Glens Falls Business
Improvement District (BID); SUNY Plattsburgh Foundation; New York State
High School Basketball Championship Tournament Program Committee; Glens
Falls Hospital - Finance Committee; WAIT House; Statewide Zone Capital
Corporation; Fitzgerald Brothers Beverage Company; and Adirondack Health
Services; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dan Burke upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
J. Walter Juckett Community Service Award by the Adirondack Regional
Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dan Burke.
