LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Mark Warford upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Community Spirit Award by the Bethlehem
Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the community and its
citizenry; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Mark Warford
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Community Spir-
it Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce on Friday, April 19, 2013,
at the Cyprus Shrine Center in Glenmont, New York; and
WHEREAS, Mark Warford, Vice Principal of the Bethlehem Middle School,
has taken the initiative to create programs at the school to encourage
energy efficiency and organic growing; he oversees the School's garden-
ing club which supplies fresh vegetables to the school cafeteria, and
started two other organic gardening programs in other organizations
within the Capital District; and
WHEREAS, Mark Warford has integrated healthy eating, gardening and
recycling into the Bethlehem Middle School curriculum for which it has
won a number of awards from the federal government; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Mark Warford is the President of the Delmar
Farmers Market, one of the premiere farm markets in the region; he is
also a dedicated coach for the girl's basketball team; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mark Warford upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Community Spirit Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mark Warford.
