LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Nick Rodriguez upon the occasion
of capturing the New York State Diving Championship

WHEREAS, Nick Rodriguez, through his diligence and rigorous efforts, has
captured the 2013 New York State Diving Championship; and
WHEREAS, Nick Rodriguez, is a senior at Mexico Academy and Central
School; and
WHEREAS, Nick Rodriguez competed against 46 divers from other schools
in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association in the
2013 competition, held on March 1, 2013, at Webster-Schroeder High
School in Webster, New York; and
WHEREAS, Nick Rodriguez, who placed second in the 2012 state diving
competition, captured first place in the 2013 New York State diving
competition; and
WHEREAS, Trailing his competition with three dives remaining, this
outstanding young man overtook his competition with his final three
dives, bringing home the State title; and
WHEREAS, The son of Eddie and Denise Rodriguez, of Palermo, New York,
Nick Rodriguez has been swimming since the age of two; in addition, he
has been a member of his school's diving team since the seventh grade;
and
WHEREAS, His perseverance in rising through the ranks of high school
divers is a strong indication of his ability to master difficult tasks;
his accomplishments will enable him to emerge as a leader, fully
equipped to meet the challenges of today's complex society; and
WHEREAS, Nick Rodriguez is a credit to his family, his school, his
community, his State and his Nation, and no doubt his future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Nick Rodriguez on capturing the 2013 New York
State Diving Championship; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Nick Rodriguez.
