LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Gene Casella upon the occasion of being
selected as Warren County's 2013 Senior Citizen of the Year

WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their past
contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and valuable
asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Gene Casella
upon the occasion of being selected as Warren County's 2013 Senior Citi-
zen of the Year, in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the
community through his outstanding, and much appreciated, volunteer work;
and
WHEREAS, As Warren County's 2013 Senior Citizen of the Year, Gene
Casella will participate in the Annual New York State Senior Citizens
Day Luncheon, hosted by the State Office for the Aging (SOFA), at the
Hart Theatre Lounge in the Egg, Albany, New York, on Tuesday, May 7,
2013; and
WHEREAS, Gene Casella moved to the Queensbury, New York, area from New
York City in 1996; retired as a manager at IBM for 30 years, he is
married, and is the proud father of three children; and
WHEREAS, Gene Casella has been a dedicated volunteer in his community
for 17 years; and
WHEREAS, Gene Casella faithfully delivered meals to the home bound
three days a week for the Voluntary Action Center; he now utilizes his
professional skills at the offices of RSVP and the County Office for the
Aging, assisting with data entry and paperwork every week; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Gene Casella's distinguished record
merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Gene Casella upon the occasion of being selected as Warren Coun-
ty's 2013 Senior Citizen of the Year; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Gene Casella.
