LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Mineola, New York, Golden Age Club
upon the occasion of celebrating its 45th Anniversary on June 6, 2013

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the
Mineola, New York, Golden Age Club upon the occasion of celebrating its
45th Anniversary; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated at the
Club's Installation of Officers Luncheon, to be held on Thursday, June
6, 2013, at the Chateau Briand; and
WHEREAS, With more than 200 members, the Mineola, New York, Golden Age
Club has been providing entertainment and activities to residents 55 and
older since 1968; and
WHEREAS, Under the excellent leadership of its President, Lillian
Barnola, Golden Age Club of Mineola members also organize trips to nurs-
ing homes and participate in outreach programs as part of giving back to
the community; and
WHEREAS, In 2013, the Mineola, New York, Golden Age Club is celebrat-
ing its 45th Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Mineola, New York,
Golden Age Club; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when an organ-
ization of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our atten-
tion, it should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Mineola, New York, Golden Age Club upon the occasion of cele-
brating its 45th Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Mineola, New York, Golden Age Club.
