LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Nancy Monsour upon the occasion of her
designation as Senior Citizen of the Year by the Saratoga Springs Rotary
Club

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the senior
citizens of the Empire State who, as they reach the fullness of years,
continue to be active and vital participants in the life of their commu-
nity; and
WHEREAS, Older New Yorkers bring their special wisdom, experience and
enthusiasm to countless endeavors, helping to shape and strengthen the
character of our communities and the quality of our lives; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Nancy Monsour upon the occasion of her designation as Senior Citizen of
the Year by the Saratoga Springs Rotary Club; and
WHEREAS, Nancy Monsour of Moreau, New York has acquired 14,754 hours
in the Saratoga County Retired Senior Volunteer Program; she is very
active at the Moreau Community Center as a daily volunteer, where she
packages and delivers meals, operates the Bargain Shop, volunteers at
bingo, acts as receptionist and participates in all the Center's events;
and
WHEREAS, Nancy Monsour also is active with St. Michael's Church and
participates in numerous charity walks, including the Alzheimer's Asso-
ciation Memory Walk and the Crop Walk for the local food pantry; as part
of her award, she received funds for a nonprofit of her choice which was
the Moreau Community Center; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Nancy Monsour's distinguished record
merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Nancy Monsour upon the occasion of her designation as Senior Citi-
zen of the Year by the Saratoga Springs Rotary Club; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Nancy Monsour.
